Belper United vs Ilkeston Town
Kick-off 7:45
Derbyshire Senior Cup

Ilkeston booked their place in the third round of the FA Vase with a 2-0 win away at Wolverhampton Sporting Community. Reece Fyfe opened the scoring inside the opening ten minutes, heading Jamie Walker’s cross into the back of the net.

The game had to wait until midway through the second half for its next big incident. Jak Barnes was shown a straight red for a bad tackle on Fyfe. Ilkeston then took advantage of having an extra man and doubled their lead with less than ten minutes to go. Substitutes Malachi Lavelle-Moore and Alex Marshal combined, with the latter slotting the ball into the corner to confirm the win.

United ran out comfortable 6-0 winners over Borrowash Victoria.

Sam Vickers opened the scoring inside ten minutes before James Rushby scored twice in seven minutes to make it 3-0 at the break. It was 4-0 five minutes into the half when Ryan Baker got himself on the score sheet. Rushby completed his hat trick 20 minutes from time and substitute Josh Wright completed the win in the 84th minute.

Ilkeston have failed to win just once in their last five games. Their only defeat came in a 3-0 loss away at Worcester City. In front of goal the Robins have only failed to find the back of the net against Worcester and have scored 11 goals in their other four matches. Defensively they have kept two clean sheets in wins over Wolverhampton Sporting Community and Heanor Town. In their other three games they have let in five goals.

Belper, like Ilkeston, have lost just once in their last five games. In their other four games they have picked up two wins and two draws. Their only loss came in a 4-1 defeat to Quorn AFC in the FA Vase.

They have scored in each of their last five games, finding the back of the net a total of 15 times in that period, six of which came in that win over Borrowash. Defensively they have kept just one clean sheet and have conceded ten times in their other four games.

A win for Ilkeston will be their fourth straight win in all competitions, and it will see them move into the third round of the Senior Cup after making the semi-final last season. It will also be the first time they have recorded back to back away wins since September.

If United get a win it will their fifth consecutive game without defeat and will see them pick up back to back wins. It will also be the first time they have reached the third round of the Senior Cup in over three years.
